Route
On another hot, sunny day I walked from Reichardsroth alongside fields and woods to the small town of Gallmersgarten. On the way, I passed through the village of Ohrenbach, visiting the old local church.
On one set of the northern gates beside the church is the Chi-Ro: ⳩. This is an early symbol in the Christian tradition, formed by the first two letters of the Greek title ΧΡΙΣΤΟΣ (Christos), which means “Anointed One”. The English title Christ comes from this Greek word, and it is equivalent to the title Messiah, which is מָשִׁיחַ (Masiakh) in Hebrew and مسيح (Masih) in Arabic.
