We explored more of central Rotterdam and visited the majestic Grote of Sint-Laurenskerk [“Great or Saint Lawrence’s Church”].

At the back of the church are eleven wall-mounted display panels with doors that, when opened, prompted a 3D display inside to light up or move in some way. Each display panel is dedicated to a different religious festival, such as Vesak (Buddhism), Saint Nicholas Day (Christianity), Holi (Hinduism), Eid al-Fitr (Islam) and the Feast of Tabernacles (Judaism). It is a lovely way to show and encourage inter-faith understanding and solidarity, and I was very impressed.

In the afternoon Luke returned to Europoort to take the ferry back to Kingston upon Hull. I met Ian, who kindly bought me some dinner.

Thank you to Luke for joining for a fifth consecutive day.
