Route
On a clear, sunny, mild day, the pilgrimage began from the entrance to Lindisfarne Priory (which was closed for winter). Visited St. Mary’s Church, then walked along the roads to the start of Pilgrim’s Way and followed this path across the sand and mudflats, as marked by the regularly-placed wooden posts. Then followed St. Cuthbert’s Way public footpath, via St. Cuthbert’s Cave, to the St. Cuthbert Statue, before following the road south to Chatton.
