Route

At 7:30am I joined some of the monks of the Saint Francis of Sale monastery for Holy Communion in their chapel. After breakfast I set off on a long walk through the German countryside, visiting many villages along the way, including Broich, Mersch, Güsten, Rödingen, Bettenhoven, Oberembt and Tollhausen.

I visited many churches and chapels, and also my first synagogue on this pilgrimage: the Kulturhaus Landsynagoge [“Culture House Land Synagogue”] of Rödingen, which is also now a cultural museum (unfortunately it was closed on this day so I could only visit the outside).
