Holy Places Visited

  • Evangelische Gemeente Jozua [“Evangelical Church Joshua”], Dordrecht

Distance Travelled

Approximately 9 km (5½ miles) on foot and 585 metres (640 yards) on a car ferry.

Route

I walked south along the edge of the Nationaal Park to the south-east of Doredrecht, where I visited Evangelische Gemeente Jozua. They were having a drop-in lunch where everyone is welcome. I joined them and talked about the work their church does in their community and across the world. After lunch I gave a short talk about my pilgrimage. Special thanks to Rosanna for translating, and also to Jessica and Rob and everyone else present who made me feel welcomed and prayed for me. May God bless you all.

From here I walked east along to the Nieuwe Merwede waterway, which forms the boundary of Zuid-Holland [South Holland] and Noord-Brabant [North Brabant]. I took the car ferry the short distance across the water then walked on into the Nationaal Park to my accommodation.

The carbon emissions from the boat trip have been offset. More info.
