Route

It was another warm day (up to 21°C, 70°F) as I did another long walk through rural Hungary.

I walked from Lipót through farmland and a forest to the town of Ásványráró, where I visited two churches; one dedicated to Saint Andrew (one of the Twelve Apostles) and the other to Saint Roch (the 14th Century Saint and pilgrim).

On the edge of town I joined the Eurovelo 6 Cycle Route, which starts in France and from Germany onwards mostly follows the Danube River all the way to the Black Sea at the Romanian/Ukrainian border.

I walked along this designated cycle way, separate from and parallel to the main road, for around 7 km (4½ miles) to the town of Dunaszeg, where I stayed for the next three days.
