Route

Walked through beautiful rolling hills and woodland from the town of Haibach to nearby Hessenthal.

On the outskirts of Hessenthal I came across a beautiful old chapel, originally built in 1670. From there I followed a quiet country lane into the town, along which were the fourteen Stations of the Cross, set into stones alongside the path.

Once in Hessenthal I visited the ornate Pilgrim’s Church dedicated to Mary’s Ascension.
