Route

I revisited the local church before heading off into the forested hills of the Visegrád Mountains. I stopped at the ruins of a former Pauline Monastery, situated up the hill from Pilisszentlélek, with a wide view over the valleys below.

At lunchtime it started raining and I pressed on under the canopy of trees, passing into Közép-Magyarország [Central Hungary] and the town of Dobogókő. I visited the exterior of a Convent Chapel before reaching an amazing viewpoint with a vista over the Visegrád Mountains and Danube River.

Nearby is a statue of Sri Chinmoy, who was an Indian meditation teacher. The plaque notes that he was “a világbéke álmodojá”: a “dreamer of world peace”.
