Route

I headed east through the town of Asten, visiting the “Old Church”, then walked on through farmland under a beautiful blue sky to Einsiedl and on to Enns.

In the Lorch area of Enns I visited the Basilica dedicated to Saint Lawrence. The building, designated as a Minor Basilica, was built in place of a former 5th Century church, which was said to have housed the relics of the Saint. Construction started around 1290 in the Gothic style, with numerous structural and decorative additions over the centuries.
